Help clients maintain independence at home
Assist with light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
Accompany clients out in the community and to medical appointments
Create comfort, dignity, and trust with every visit

PCA/HHA experience or certification preferred

Current openings for all shifts in Elmira, NY. Every other weekend required. If you are currently a certified PCA or HHA - please respond to this posting with resume to be considered. Competency demonstration for PCA certification available for those who qualify. Pay is $18.65-$21.05 per hour.
Job Description
Experience and Qualifications: High School graduate or GED preferred. Certified as a Personal Care Aide (PCA) through completion of an approved NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) or NYS Education Department (NYSED) training program or through an approved NYSDOH competency testing curriculum. Prior experience in homecare, caregiving or a related setting preferred. Demonstrated ability to approach clients with compassion, empathy and respect for their individuality and cultural background. Able to read and write, understand and follow written and verbal direction and instructions, record messages and keep simple records. Ability to follow care plans and adapt to the changing needs of the clients. Communicates effectively with clients, families, Stafkings and other team members. Must undergo a criminal history record check as required by NYS Department of Health Rules and Regulations governing Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs).
